Senior System Analyst

SaM Solutions is an international IT-services and software solutions provider with 30 years of experience. We focus on IT consulting and custom software engineering services for both European and the U.S. markets, leveraging global resources. The geographical presence of SaM Solutions covers the USA, Germany, the Netherlands and countries in the Eastern Europe – Latvia, Lithuania, Poland.

We are looking for a Senior System Analyst to join a team developing a cloud-based Visitor Management / Digital Signage solution.

Main responsibilities:

• Working through new product and technical features from the initial idea to development-ready tasks;

• Analyzing business needs, user scenarios, technical limitations and possible implementation options;

• Decomposing complex features into scenarios, modules, integrations and individual tasks;

• Preparing requirements for backend, frontend, mobile applications, APIs, SDKs, integrations and terminal-based scenarios;

• Describing feature logic, edge cases, errors, limitations and expected system behavior;

• Studying documentation for external APIs, SDKs and technical protocols, and preparing requirements for integrations;

• Analyzing functionality of competing products and their implementation approaches;

• Working through scenarios related to Windows, self-service terminals and connected peripheral devices;

• Participating in the analysis and specification of mobile scenarios, including iOS applications;

• Preparing diagrams, user flows, sequence diagrams, BPMN / UML models;

• Formulating development tasks, including acceptance criteria;

• Working closely with developers, QA, DevOps, project managers and business stakeholders;

• Participating in requirement clarification, implementation review and result validation;

• Independently driving tasks to a clear, agreed and production-ready state.

Requirements:

• At least 5 years of experience as a System Analyst;

• Ability to work with ambiguous requirements, clarify them and produce clear, well-structured solution documentation;

• Strong decomposition skills, with the ability to identify subsystems, functional components, user scenarios and dependencies;

• Proven experience in documenting software requirements, individual modules, APIs and system integrations;

• Ability to formulate clear and actionable tasks for the development team;

• Experience in process modelling and visualisation using notations such as UML and BPMN;

• Ability to analyse business processes, identify bottlenecks and propose improvements;

• Strong analytical thinking, critical thinking skills and the ability to develop independent solution concepts;

• Good understanding of JSON, SQL and REST APIs;

• Understanding of microservices architecture principles;

• Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and switch efficiently between priorities;

• High level of responsibility, attention to detail, persistence and resilience under pressure;

• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with both business stakeholders and software engineers;

• Willingness to learn new technologies and adapt to existing processes;

• English language proficiency at Upper-Intermediate (B2) level or above.
